Steps in Natural selection
- Variation - Within a population , individuals are not identical. Members are born with a range of characteristics, and some members are born with new mutations. for example different colours
- Inheritance - Individuals pass on certain traits to offspring.
- Selection-those individuals born with traits that give them some advantages in competing with others in its population, which then can be passed on to its own offspring
- Time-evolution takes place in many generations and to show noticeable effects time is needed to achieve this new trait
- Adaption-after time the trait will be commonly found in the population and will help them survive the enviroment
